Hello from Dan Elliott Photography!
As you may know, we began working in Haiti just after the earthquake in 2010, initially working with another mission in photographing sponsor kids who needed a hand up through the aftermath of the tragedy there. After a year of making trips to Haiti we began to see the need to work with local pastors and churches, equipping them through Bibles and discipleship. We sold our photography studio and moved to Haiti. Now, through the work there and the relationships forged, the mission is able to continue in the hands of a very capable Haitian director, transforming the mission to a much more impactful, indigenous ministry. Our role has become more of a passenger-seat, encouragement position with the mission as we continue to come alongside the Haitian people and help in any way we can.
We’ve now transitioned back to the States and are living in Brandon, SD, trying to restart our photography business. We’re asking for you help in spreading the news that we’re open for weddings, families, kids, seniors or events. We’ve come back temporarily over the years to photograph in the summer, but for many of our clients, it’s been a very long time. We’re hoping to reestablish our business and start again in the area now that we’re here on a more permanent basis. If you are in need of photography, or you know friends or family who may have a need, please don’t hesitate to email or call. We’re running a Summer Sale for any sessions booked for August and September, for 10% ($30) off the image rights. Things have changed a bit in the industry since we’ve been away. Gone are the days of proof books and USB flash drives. Now your images will be posted online for you to view and share, with a direct option to print or download them all at your own convenience. This makes our turnaround for images much shorter, while still keeping the same quality and workmanship. We’ve also given our site a new look. Please check it out when you have the time.
Thanks for any opportunity to serve. We look forward to working with you again.
